O Yesterplace and other poems was her first book not-for-hire. It came about as a result of her desire to get the word Yesterplace™ into wider use. Privately printed in 1999, her poetry book sold more than 500 of the 1,000 copies in less than 4 months.
She compiled the article “Margaret Mitchell: A Portrait” (Georgia Journal, February/March 1983) from various writings by her Aunt Susan Myrick, friend of Mitchell and technical advisor of the movie GWTW. “We Used Deer Repellent to Get Rid of Beavers” ran in TOPS, The Georgia Forestry Magazine (Spring, 1979). She co-authored this article with Jack Benford, the Wildlife Ranger who discovered the effectiveness of the deer repellent in running beavers away from ponds and streams. |
